Meet the Craftsman Behind the Work

Hi, I’m Felix—the founder and lead carpenter behind Old Port Carpentry & Maintenance.

My journey in the building trade began at 16, when I started my apprenticeship learning the fundamentals of site work and traditional craftsmanship. Over the years, I honed my skills working for a leading London firm, specialising in loft conversions, bespoke carpentry, and intricate second-fix finishing work—where attention to detail, precision, and clean joinery matter most.

Driven by a passion for how buildings come together, I continued my education alongside my hands-on trade work:

  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Qualified: Bringing rigorous safety standards, clear risk awareness, and peace of mind to every job site.

  • BSc (Hons) Building Surveying Degree: Equipping me with an in-depth technical understanding of building structures, diagnostics, damp inspection, and long-lasting construction methods.

Now, at 34 and with 18 years of hands-on experience under my belt, I’ve established my own small business focused on delivering honest, high-quality local service. Whether it’s bespoke built-in storage, structural timber work, or home repairs, I bring together the care of a trusted local craftsman with the professional technical knowledge of a qualified building surveyor.

When you hire Old Port Carpentry & Maintenance, you’re dealing directly with me—from the initial advice and site check to the final tidy-up.
